Coral + Mint

Kind of loving pairing these two hues together...something about the combo says summer to me. And, lucky for us, these two colors are all over runways and shelves, so they're not hard to come by!

The T-Shirt Dress

Is there really anything better than something that is both cute AND comfortable? I feel like this rarely happens for whatever reason. I always end up forgoing the comfy factor as long as it's cute...then I end up completely regretting my decision. It's always fun to be that girl when you're out that gets to laugh and point at all the other girls in their super cute yet obviously extremely uncomfortable outfits, when you're in your t-shirt, denim shorts and Sperrys and totally at ease. But how often do you get to be that girl? No one likes to have to choose between the two. I'm here to tell you that there's this new fabulous phenomenon (I always think of that old J.Travolta movie when I hear that word..) called the t-shirt dress, and girls, let me just tell you. It's a winner. It's like comfy, casual, dressy, cute, trendy and easy all rolled up into one big ball of ohmygoshIneverwanttotakethisoff. There are so many different styles of this glorious garment and it's easily taken from day to night. You can do the button-down collared style like this with heels for work or gladiator sandals for strolling around town. There's this fabulous little number that's so comfy cute I can hardly stand it. A basic like this can be dressed up with some wedge sandals and a sparkly statement necklace for a great look. I LOVE every color in this simple cotton piece. BCBG added a little two-toned twist to the staple t-shirt dress here. I could go on and on. I just love them all. Here's how I styled my own cotton racerback t-shirt dress - totally perfect for dinner and drinks on a patio by the lake. What do you guys think? Is the t-shirt dress just a little too casual and comfy for your liking? Is there really such a thing? I think not.

A Mini Obsession

You might remember this post in which I addressed the ever-so-controversial fringe issue. Well, girls, let me just tell you, all of my skepticism passed after I discovered this fabulous little mini skirt. Seriously, the fringe is just the right amount when paired with a plain top - not too overwhelming or tacky! I'm obsessed. It came in all sorts of fun colors, but this teal one totally won me over. It's perfect for a fun night out with girlfriends or a date night with your man! And it can be dressed up with heels and a button down top or dressed down with some flats, a cotton tee and a statement necklace. Which ever way you choose, it's totally a winner. At least in my book. This is definitely going to be a repeat item for me this summer!

Denim on Denim

Up until very recently, I had this weird vendetta against massive amounts of denim. Dresses, over-alls, jackets paired with jeans..all of it. Denim was a one item per outfit kind of thing. Lately though, I've seen numerous celebs and models on runways totally rocking denim in a new way and I'm definitely digging it. I don't know what it was that changed in me, maybe I've gone a little crazy, who knows? But the all-denim look is a winner right now. Especially when it's different shades. Yes, maybe it looks a little Zach Morris on Saved by the Bell-esque, but the 90s are totally coming back, girls. And really, who didn't love Zach Morris? So dig through the vault and find your light and dark denim..and put them together. Because with some fun pumps, jewels and a great bag, you can totally have a great look for a girls' night out! At least that's where I'm going. Denim on denim..I vote yes.

Speaking of the 90s and denim cut off shirts...I guess great minds think alike. My sister is working one too in a serious way for a "90s prom" themed party tonight...she's sooo Stephanie Tanner mixed with a little Kelly Kapowski. How cute is she? I love it.

Wednesday Wishes - Karen Walker Sunnies

I tend to have a hard time finding sunglasses that I truly love due to the fact that my face is round and has zero structure to it. Sunglasses just tend to accentuate that fact for me. I put on a pair and try to smile and it's like..smooshed cheeks, big sunglasses, eyelashes pressed against the lenses, crease in my face disasterous. Paints a pretty picture, huh? My point exactly. Then we have the whole issue of colored frames vs. no color, cheap pairs for recreational activities vs. expensive designer..I'm just totally and completely indecisive and the sunglass hunt is really never ending for this kid. My sweet boyfriend (now husband) in college gave me my favorite pair of glasses ever and I swore by them aaaaand maybe we went to a music festival and maybe I was dancing around like an idiot and maybe they fell off my head at some point and disappeared. I was devistated. He was more mad that I made our whole group stop what they were doing and search for them under everyone's feet during his favorite song. I vividly remember him saying "Really babe, did you HAVE to lose them during THIS song!? It's my favorite!" Priorities, I tell ya. Anyway. Since then, I've been searching for another great pair and just have completely failed. I find OK pairs here and there, but nothing I'm crazy about and certainly nothing I'm going to drop any sort of money on. So, all of this blabbing, insignificant and pointless chatter has led me here. To my point. Recently I discovered and have kind of been swooning over every pair of Karen Walker's sunnies. The shapes are so classic and flattering and chic and anytime I see a pair I immediately drool a little. Gross, I know. They're just perfection and I'm obsessed with her whole line of eyewear! There's a shape for every face and all sorts of colors and styles to choose from. Totally wishful thinking for now, but a girl can dream, right? Maybe one of these days I'll have one of these fab pairs to add to my collection! Here are a few of my faves:

Each of these amazing pairs can be found here. Enjoy!
